Welcome to West Lee's tattoo website. If you are interested in getting a tattoo, and have not yet viewed my artwork, please click the Tattoos link and check out my portfolio.
I have been a resident of Des Moines most of my life, and really started to push my artistic skill around high school. I started my apprenticeship as soon as I was 18 and was tattooing by early 2007. I have tattooed in a variety of places all over the United States, and recently started tattooing abroad, for sake of learning other cultures interest in this industry, and to appreciate their own. I have done a good number of conventions, worked with some really great artists and mentors, and learned an incredible amount from the people around me.
I don't always like to say I specialize in one field of tattooing. I have worked on many different styles over the years and adequately mastered a variety of ways to bring your ideas to life. Mind you, I like doing a lot more than what's listed, but the subjects and styles I enjoy the most are black and gray realism, with lots of mythical gods and creatures, warrior men and women, various faces of detailed characters. Varied line weights, with deep contrasts. I also love doing color. I love doing outer space, splash paint styles, new school styles and I've done some color realism I'm pretty fond of. Anime, cartoons, and new school designs are always fun! Lately I've been utilizing a lot of the AI drawing applications available to play with out of the box thinking, styles, and images that help improve upon my artwork.
